Temporary Email Privacy and Usage Guide

Keep your main email address out of more contact lists. Learn how to use a temporary inbox for downloads and brief trials, protect access, and finish before expiry.

1. Keep your main address out of another contact list

A temporary inbox gives you a practical way to receive a message without handing over your main email address. The other website gets a separate receiving address, so your personal or work inbox does not have to become part of every download, trial or optional signup.

This also separates follow-up marketing from everyday mail. If that exchange leads to promotions, the messages go to the address you supplied rather than your main inbox. Keeping your usual address out of another contact list reduces how widely you share it and leaves you free to choose which services deserve a lasting way to reach you.

2. Use a separate address for a short task

A one-time download, a brief trial or a test of your own signup flow can need a working receiving address without needing your everyday email. Temporary mail gives that exchange its own inbox. Check that the website permits it and that the task fits within the retention period shown here.

Choose the address for the kind of contact you expect. If a short task turns into an ongoing relationship that needs replies, later receipts or password recovery, update it to a durable address while you can still sign in. Using temporary mail does not cancel a trial or any subscription you agree to.

  • Receive a guide, template or other one-time download link.
  • Try a service briefly where its rules allow temporary email.
  • Check delivery and confirmation steps for a website you own or are authorised to test.

3. Use the assigned inbox and protect its access

Opening the page automatically assigns a free inbox with a random name; there is no need to create one first. Copy the entire receiving address and check the domain and spelling when pasting it into another website. Keep the inbox accessible until you have finished the task; switching to another address will not redirect mail already sent to the first one.

Guest access depends on a secret inbox credential, not just the visible email address. Do not publish it in screenshots, shared notes, public links or support messages. Someone who obtains that credential may be able to open the inbox. If the credential is lost, the receiving address alone cannot recover access.

On a shared computer, avoid leaving the inbox available to the next user. If a task involves sensitive information, choose a device and an email service appropriate to that information.

4. Receive and read the message

Ask the sending website to send the message, then check this inbox. Confirm that you copied the correct address and that the sender accepted it. A delivery delay does not mean a new address will work better; the sender may have a delay, a filtering rule or a restriction on temporary email.

The inbox displays message text and sanitized HTML only. Attachments are skipped, and original email downloads are unavailable. The viewer removes scripts and automatic remote resources such as images and styles, and isolates displayed message content. These measures reduce automatic loading from an email, but they do not verify the sender’s claims or make every link safe.

Before opening a link, check that it leads to the website you intended to use. A link can contain an identifier or lead to a page that records your visit.

5. Use the free random address for a short task

The inbox is free and does not require registration. Every new address name is assigned randomly; copy the address shown on the page rather than making up a name.

Use it for a task you can finish promptly. If the other website will need to contact you later or send account recovery mail, give that website a durable address you control.

6. Finish before expiry and keep only what you need

Only message bodies are retained, and messages are deleted after 30 minutes. Check the address expiry, per-message limit and storage allowance displayed for your inbox. An available address does not mean earlier messages are still retained, and a full inbox may stop receiving new messages.

If you need a legitimate download or reference after the task, save it securely before expiry. Deleting a message or letting it expire stops access through the service, while background removal from storage happens separately. The privacy policy explains that distinction; deletion is not a promise that every storage copy disappears at the same instant.

Finishing here does not delete an account you created on another website or remove the copy of your address in that website’s records. If you keep that account, update its recovery address while you can still sign in. If you no longer need it, use that website’s own account and subscription controls.

Practical privacy and inbox questions

What should I check before giving a website this address?

Check that it accepts temporary email, that you do not need to send a reply, and that you can complete the task before expiry. If the address will become an important recovery contact, choose a durable address instead.

Will this remove spam from my existing email account?

No. It can reduce future exposure of your main address when you use a temporary one for a new exchange. It cannot remove an address from mailing lists it is already on or stop messages already directed to it.

Can I share the receiving address without sharing inbox access?

The receiving address is what a sender needs to send mail. It does not itself grant read access here. Keep the secret inbox credential private; avoid screenshots or shared browser sessions that reveal it.

Why has a confirmation message not arrived?

Check the copied address, the inbox expiry and capacity, and any notice from the sending website. It may reject temporary domains, delay sending or filter the message. Acceptance and delivery are outside a single inbox’s control and are not guaranteed.

What if I lose access to a guest inbox?

Guest access requires its secret credential. The email address alone cannot retrieve the inbox or prove ownership. Do not choose guest mail for a task where losing access would lock you out of an important service.

Does deleting a message delete my account on the sending website?

No. Local inbox deletion only affects access and cleanup within this service. The other website keeps its own records and account settings. Use its controls to change an address, cancel a subscription or request account deletion.

Are messages kept while I leave the inbox open?

No. Messages are deleted after 30 minutes even if the page stays open. Only message bodies are retained; attachments are skipped. Save anything you legitimately need before the message expires.

Are tracking and phishing completely blocked?

No. The viewer removes scripts and automatic remote resources, but a link can still lead to a tracking or deceptive website. Check the destination and handle unexpected content cautiously.

Is temporary email anonymous or end-to-end encrypted?

Do not assume either. It separates your main address from a third party, but does not hide your IP address, clear cookies or stop a website’s own tracking. The service processes incoming mail; a short-lived address does not imply zero logs or end-to-end encryption. Read the privacy policy for its data handling.

When should I switch to a regular email address?

Switch before an interaction becomes lasting: when you need replies, long-term receipts, essential notices or reliable account recovery. Update the other service while you still control both the account and the temporary inbox.
