Hello Temp Mail

Email privacy guides

What a temporary email address protects—and where its limits begin

A separate receiving address can keep your main email out of short-term website signups. Learn which privacy benefits it provides and what remains visible.

Share a separate address instead of your everyday one

An email address is often the first piece of contact information a website asks for. Using your primary address connects that signup to the inbox you depend on for work, family, and account recovery. A temporary address gives that particular interaction a different destination.

This is useful when you want a download link, a short trial, or a message for a brief test. The website receives the temporary address rather than your main one. Follow-up mail addressed only to that temporary address stays separate from your regular inbox.

Choose a task with a clear end

Before entering the address, think about what happens after the first email. A one-off document download usually ends quickly. A service that sends invoices, security alerts, or password resets for years needs a dependable address you plan to keep.

Use a temporary inbox only where its lifetime fits the task and the website permits it. A website may decline disposable addresses, and receiving a message here does not establish that the sender or the website is trustworthy.

  • Suitable examples include optional downloads, short-lived trials, and email testing with your own systems.
  • Use an address you control long term for banking, essential accounts, and future account recovery.

Keep the anonymous inbox credential private

Knowing this project’s receiving address alone does not grant access to its messages. An anonymous inbox also requires its secret access token, which the browser keeps so it can reopen the inbox. Anyone who obtains that token may be able to read the inbox.

Do not publish the token, share browser storage, or lend a browser profile that has the inbox open. A screenshot of a message can also reveal private content. Keep the token and the device holding it private.

Understand the privacy boundary

A separate address limits disclosure of your primary email address. It does not remove your IP address, browser cookies, payment information, or information you type into another website. Reusing the same username or other identifying details can still connect your activity.

This free service assigns random temporary addresses and receives email only. Only message bodies are retained, and messages are deleted after 30 minutes; attachments are skipped. It is not an end-to-end encrypted mailbox and does not promise zero logging or absolute anonymity. Save anything you need before it expires.

Questions about temporary email privacy

Does using a temporary email hide my real email address from a signup website?

If you enter only the temporary address, the website receives that address instead of your primary email. Other information you provide, existing accounts, and website tracking can still identify you.

Can someone read my inbox just by knowing the address?

The address alone is insufficient in this service. Opening the inbox also requires its secret mailbox token. Keep the token and the device holding it private.

Is temporary email completely anonymous?

No. A separate email address does not hide network information or website tracking, and this service does not provide an absolute anonymity or zero-log guarantee.
